Taylor, Greek Biology and Medicine

Greek Biology and Medicine by Henry Osborn Taylor (1922). Scanned by Tim Spalding.

Taylor’s Greek Biology and Medicine (1922) is short, well-written but scholarly introduction to the topic. Moving chronologically, Taylor covers the Presocratics, Hippocratics, Aristotle, the Alexandrian physicians and Galen. As befits its inclusion in the series “Our Debt to Greece and Rome” also includes discussion of the “Linkage with the Modern Time.”
